Katie & Jim- Castle Hill in Newport, RI
With Katie & Jim’s Castle Hill wedding being the same day as the kickoff of the Newport to Bermuda race I knew we would be in for an interesting scene. Undoubtedly the “go-to” destination to view the race’s start, literally hundreds of onlookers always flock to Castle Hill so to get these wedding photos would mean shooting amidst some pretty large crowds! Might sound like a challenge, but let me just say that the energy and excitement only added to the aura of the day and images, as we were able to get some AMAZING shots! With so many boats in the background the images just had this added dimension of excitement that was totally authentic, and provided the perfect backdrop-something we never would have been able to create otherwise! And surprisingly, if you didn’t know you would have no idea how many people were around by the photos 😉
What a special day and memory for you guys, Katie & Jim. It was an honor to shoot your wedding and you were both so fun and easy to work with.
You even took arrival of your marriage license in stride, which had been left behind… (oops!) And in all honestly the delay provided a much needed restbit for the bunch of us after so much manuvering and running around!!

Now that I’m finally digging into this whole blogging thing, I have to admit I get so excited to post and I’m really enjoying the story-telling aspect of it.
