About Carrie

One can easily define Carrie Rodman by viewing her photography, intimate and inspiring works of art she effortlessly captures. With an artistic photographic vision inspired by contemporary fashion and ornate beauty, Carrie has established herself as a premiere wedding photographer, splitting her time between Newport, RI, New York City, Palm Beach, FL, tropical destinations and wherever else the job may take her.

“As a luxury Event Planner in the industry and working on the most high end weddings…there is not only a quality in the photography and workmanship of Carrie’s imagery and products, but a personality that is not only sweet, wonderful and understanding, but genuinely caring and excited for her clients,” says Raina Dawn of Raina Dawn Events.

After studying under photographic legends in NYC including Richard Avedon, Bruce Weber, Gregory Heisler and Walter Iooss Jr., Carrie developed her contemporary artistic style as a commercial photographer shooting editorial and advertising campaigns for Avon, Glamour, Self, Shape, Ladies’ Home Journal, Men’s Health and Hamptons.

For Carrie, photography is a love affair, and as she segued into wedding photography, that sentiment easily translated to her imagery and is the driving force behind her success. “Our wedding pictures came out so beautifully,” bride and groom Char and Jimmy reminisce. “The way she designed the album actually brought tears to my eyes as we looked at our book.”

While Carrie’s fashion and lifestyle aesthetic attracts couples to her work, her enthusiasm seals the deal. Carrie’s production and art direction skills separate her from her peers, elevating the quality of her imagery and level of service she provides. It also ensures couples walk away with incredible imagery. “Our engagement shoot was a blast,” says bride Laura Garcia.

“She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and even kept my (then) fiancé entertained through the whole day. It was more like an adventure than a photo shoot and the gorgeous pictures truly capture that.”

Whether on assignment for a magazine, at a fashion shoot or waiting for you to walk down the aisle, Carrie instinctively knows how to perfectly capture the day’s events. Her images grace magazine covers and are featured in magazines and blogs including Inside Weddings, Grace Ormonde, Southern New England Weddings, Bliss Celebrations, Newport Wedding Magazine, PDN, Style Me Pretty and Newport Wedding Glam.

Since every wedding is unique and unfolds in its own way, Carrie will remain by a couple’s side until she feels their story is complete, regardless of any circumstances that might prove challenging. “We woke up the day of our wedding to Tropical Storm Danny but our pictures were amazing,” Tom and Gretchen exclaim. “She put us all at ease and made us feel comfortable, which is hard to do when there is a hurricane on your wedding day.”

Remember at the end of the day, you take the dress and tux off, the flowers fade away, and the champagne flutes empty, but Carrie Rodman’s photographs will last for generations to come.
