Alex & Domenic’s Wedding at Oceancliff Resort #GoingGreen
Alex and Domenic’s wedding, #GoingGreenOn717, was held at Oceancliff Resort in Newport, RI over the summer. When I first met this dynamic duo over a year ago, I knew their celebration would be a real tour de force.
For me, I could feel the anticipation as soon as I met them as they were getting dressed. These grooms were rocking the Christian Louboutin red soles better than any brides I have come across. Our photo tour around Newport with the fabulous bridal party culminated at the Hyatt lighthouse on Goat Island. The sheer excitement of the day was just as electric as some of their guest’s vibrant wedding attire.
The love Alex and Domenic radiated, was matched only by the joy their family and friends exuded as they witnessed the grooms exchanging vows. One of my favorite images from the day captures the elation on both their faces running down the aisle hand in hand. The roar of the crowd was deafening as they were announced for the first time as Mr. Alexander Thomas Green & Mr. Domenic Marzilli-Green. It was an epic moment watching them “Go Green” as husband and husband.
The fact that it was just 3 short years ago when the state of Rhode Island legalized same-sex marriages was not lost on me at any point. So the spirit of the day called to mind a quote:
“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at it’s destination full of hope.”- Maya Angelou
I think that quote reflects the essence of what I was trying to capture for my friends. Besides I literally caught many guests leaping, jumping, spinning and high-kicking on the dance floor – for a solid 4 hours! The music was so infectious, even I found myself taking a few twirls.
Thank you, Alex & Domenic, it was such an honor to share in your incredible love story.
